Rooster Teeth: Immersion

Rooster Teeth. From the guys that brought you the early computer show like Red vs. Blue and the new show RWBY have always had fun playing off how nerdy they are. When the are not creating original shows/content they are coming up with new ways to bring their nerdy fantasies to life... Immersion... kind of like mythbusters but for video games...

Immersion is essentially where they put the ideas of video games (survival, stealth, racing, etc) and see if they could work in real life. There are those who set up the experiments (the researchers, seems to be based on time and seniority), and then there are the "lab rats". Lab rats are those who are usually goofy and play well off each other (usually younger and newer members of the team) and test out the experiments. Each episode they announce who either won the challenge or if the lab rats succeeded or not.

Although I have stated the genres of what they test, I believe I should be more specific. One episode focuses on the main game of Fortnite... no not the PUBG version, the MAAAAIIINNNN GAME!

Anyways, they test out if the lab rats can make a fort in the game and win against the vast horde of zombies trying to destroy it (spoiler alert: they do win in the game). Next the researchers will have the base recreated and get volunteers to help be zombies. The same two guys will protect the base by shooting Airsoft guns at them.

Another game focuses on different camera angles like the early Resident Evil games. Going from first person, to over the shoulder, to the set camera angles puts in to see how difficult it can be.

One of my favorite episodes is when they get their lab rats really drunk in order to *weaken their health*, getting them up at 5 A.M. and then having them eat food to "gain their health back". In my own opinion it is very entertaining.

Recreating scenarios from very popular games like Fallout 4 and also Five Nights at Freddy's (Rooster Teeth Characters though) are also great Immersion episodes.

The show can be very cheesy in places but I think they aim for this just... well just because they can. If you are looking for a fun show on YouTube and you love video games (and question what it's like in real life). Then you would love Immersion.
